Optimising Developer Experience and Accelerating Data Product Delivery with Microsoft Fabric
Session Description
As a data team our sole goal is to deliver value to the business as quickly as possible and ensure that the business can use data to drive decision making.
In order to show value quickly, we don't want our data engineers to be wrestling with technology and boilerplate code prior to being in a position to begin delivering against the business requirements.
In this session we will explore how we can build a developer platform on top of Microsoft Fabric that enables developers to rapidly provision environments to deliver data products in a consist way, whilst ensuring that the right governance and business enablement is in place to ensure successful adoption.
This session will demonstrate an approach that extends Fabric using the Workload Development Kit to create a developer portal that can be used to automate provisioning of resources, provide a baseline data product implementation that uses techniques such as metadata-driven processing and code generation and configures tools such as Purview from a governance point of view.
By the end of the session, you'll understand how to enhance DevEx, standardise delivery practices, and accelerate the time to value for data products—without compromising on governance.
