Finding my place and my value in this community
Session Description
Another year has gone by since I did my first ever talk, which was about finding my community and myself.
Back then, Id only been in the community for a few months. I gave an overview of how I got to that point, and tips on how someone can get into the Microsoft community/industry, if that was something they really wanted.
Since then...I have learnt barrels of new things, met so many wonderful and awesome people, and have had a great time.
However, I have also felt:
- imposter syndrome to a colossal level,
- overwhelmed with the amount of things out there that you can learn, experience, and specialise in,
- strong anxieties around how the tech industry is developing at such a fast pace and what that means for us.
I am still finding my way, but I think I have also recognised a few things that enable me to enjoy this journey a little more, add more value to others and this industry, and feel a little less overwhelmed or like an imposter.
I want to share these things with the audience and give some further tips on how you can do the same within this humungous and ever changing industry.
