Session Description

Water loss due to leaks in distribution systems presents a substantial challenge for utilities, impacting both operational efficiency and resource conservation. The paper outlines the methodology for establishing a live data connection with the hydraulic model, calibration and validation of the hydraulic model, and the application of advanced modelling capabilities, including predicting pipes with the highest probability of leaks, sensitivity analysis, and pressure-driven demand modelling, to enhance leak prediction capabilities. A case study of Consolidated Utilities District of Rutherford County, Tennessee, and practical examples will be presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach in real-world scenarios, showcasing its potential to enhance the sustainability and efficiency of water distribution systems across North America.
