In this session, we'll take you on a hands-on journey through building a custom agent from scratch. We'll use a real-world scenario - an IT support agent that helps employees solve common tech issues without flooding your helpdesk - to demonstrate the full development lifecycle.

You'll learn how to design conversational flows that actually make sense, and see how to connect your agent to real business data sources. We'll integrate with SharePoint for knowledge bases and FAQs, pull user information from Microsoft Graph, link to Dataverse for tracking interactions, use Power Automate to create tickets in systems like ServiceNow or Jira, and leverage Azure OpenAI for intelligent troubleshooting beyond documented solutions.

We'll cover the essentials: crafting effective prompts and instructions, setting up topics and triggers, managing knowledge sources, and testing your agent before it meets real users. You'll see how to handle complex scenarios with actions and plugins, ensure your agent stays secure and compliant with governance policies, and design smart escalation paths when human support is needed.

But building an agent is only half the story - we'll also discuss deployment strategies, user adoption, and how to measure success.
