Session Description

In the wastewater treatment process, clean water is only half of the equation. The remaining byproduct—sludge—presents one of the most significant logistical, financial, and regulatory challenges for modern municipalities. Accounting for up to 50% of a facility's operating budget, the management of these solids often dictates the overall sustainability of wastewater treatment lagoons. This presentation provides a technical deep-dive into the lifecycle of facultative sludge and offers solutions to transform sludge from a passive operational burden into a managed component of a resilient, cost-effective treatment system.
