Where Does M365, Teams and Copilot Store Your Data? A Deep Dive

6th May 2:15pm - 3:15pm MDT Telluride A
4 attending
Session Description

Data underpins every decision, process, and outcome in a modern organisation. Teams and Copilot are now the main gateways into that M365 data, but do you actually know where all of it lives?

A lot of it sits in SharePoint and Exchange, but that’s only the start. What about the less obvious bits? Meeting recordings, transcripts, attendance reports, private channel conversations, Loop components, and the content Copilot creates or works with.

In this session, we’ll look at:

  • Where different types of M365, Teams and Copilot data are stored

  • How access is managed and secured, including Copilot’s role in handling sensitive information

  • How Microsoft handles data across geographies and regions

  • How users can find data through Search, Teams and Copilot

  • How the various parts of Purview help you govern and protect your data

By the end, you’ll have a clear, current understanding of where M365, Teams and Copilot store your data and what you should be doing to secure and manage it.
