Build Interactive Workflows in Teams: Adaptive Cards + Power Automate
Session Description
Many organisations still rely on static forms, email threads, or spreadsheets to gather information from business users. These methods are clunky and make a massive assumption - everything is know up front. There's no scope to ask for addition human input mid process. In this session, we’ll explore how Adaptive Cards and Power Automate provide a modern, interactive way to collect input directly inside Microsoft Teams: No app switching, No complexity.
We’ll walk through how to build Adaptive Cards with input controls, capture responses securely, and feed that data into systems such as SharePoint, Entra ID, Dataverse, ITSM tools, or even Planner. You’ll learn how to trigger cards from Teams messages, channels, or automated workflows; how to validate input; and how to update cards based on user actions.
This is a practical, demo‑driven session ideal for anyone building lightweight business processes or approvals inside Teams. You’ll leave with reusable patterns, example JSON, and a clear understanding of when Adaptive Cards are the right tool for user interaction plus common pitfalls and how to avoid them.
