(Panel x4) Chat vs Channels: The Productivity Showdown
Session Description
Microsoft Teams gives us more ways to work together than ever before. Chat. Channels. Threads. Mentions. One question divides teams everywhere:
Teams chats or Teams channels; where should the work actually happen?
In this panel session, Lyndsay, Ben, and two fellow Microsoft Teams obsessives will go head-to-head in a friendly panel “fight” to debate two opposing approaches to working in Teams: chat-first versus channel-first.
Each side will make the case for their preferred way of working, covering:
- Speed vs structure
- Flexibility vs visibility
- Focused conversations vs shared knowledge
- What scales well, and what absolutely doesn’t
Along the way, the panel will share real-world experiences, hard-won lessons, and common mistakes they’ve seen organisations make when adopting Microsoft Teams.
The audience won’t just listen. You’ll be invited to challenge the panel, share your own experiences, and ultimately vote for the approach you believe delivers the most effective way of working.
Whether you’re firmly Team Chat, Team Channels, or somewhere in between, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding of when each approach works best—and why blindly picking one can cause more pain than progress.
