Ted Colton

Biography

Ted Colton is an industry veteran in Unified Communications since 2002 when he joined Microsoft to lead the productivity business in Silicon Valley. In early 2003 he was tapped to join the Real Time Collaboration group. This group was the start of what became Live Communication Server (LCS), Office Communication Server (OCS), Lync, and Skype for Business.

 

Ted was involved in several notable milestones while at Microsoft:

  • Office Live Meeting - Microsoft's first SaaS offering
  • Launch of Microsoft's Global Telephony Sales Team
  • Microsoft Roundtable (sold to Polycom in 2009) 

In 2010, Ted joined Polycom. While at Polycom, Ted helped lead the strategic solutions in and around the Microsoft ecosystem. This includes the first Microsoft certified room solutions with the CX7000 and Trio devices.

 

Later, Ted help start the UC division at Crestron. This division was responsible for the Lync Room Systems, Mercury, Flex, and Teams Phones amongst other solutions.

 

Today, Ted is the Co-Founder of 135 Group which is a Management Consultancy based in the Bay Area of California.
