Ron Pessner is the Product Management leader for the Modern Collaboration team for Microsoft 365 (Office Product Group). The Modern Collaboration team is responsible for leading the transformation of our classic Office authoring applications into tools preferred for collaborative work, as well as defining a new category of collaborative experiences with Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Loop, and Microsoft Whiteboard. Each of these integrate into other key Microsoft 365 products like Microsoft Teams.

Prior to joining Office, Pessner was a Group Program Manager in Windows, responsible for defining and delivering the platform and experiences for calling, messaging and people on Windows devices. Additionally, Ron led the Windows 10 Mobile release. 

Prior to joining Windows, Ron was a General Manager and Group Program Manager in Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business (‘IEB’). While in IEB, Ron was responsible for Xbox.com, Xbox LIVE on mobile devices, as well as incubating and delivering Xbox SmartGlass. 

Previously, Ron led the effort to extend Xbox LIVE with a portfolio of mobile games to smartphones with the launch of Windows Phone 7 in October 2010. Ron started his career at Microsoft in the eHome group in 2003. In eHome, Ron led the partner ecosystem team and was the Product Unit Manager of Connected TV Devices responsible for Extender for Windows Media Center, technology which delivers the Windows Media Center content and experience to network connected CE devices.
